We don’t know where, but we are moving before July 10th. Looking for a 3 bedroom, with a garage, washer/dryer hookups, and allows cats. Hoping to move towards West Ventura to be closer to Joey’ school and Nathan’s work. We are looking at a place tonight. Wish us luck, pray for us, think happy thoughts. Whatever it is that you do. Quinn was mad and bolted out the front door of the aquatic center this afternoon. There was a huge crowd of people that he slipped through and I was at least 15 feet behind him as he made it ou t the door. I yelled for someone to grab him and an older man ducked out the door and came back seconds later with Quinn in his arms. I grabbed Quinn by the shoulders, thanked the man, and headed back toward the pool to get Joey. As I walked away, the whole crowed was whispering all sorts of comments. Fortunately my heart was pounding so loudly and I was too busy scolding Quinn to hear what was being said. I wish I could have thanked the man a little better. I didn’t even really make eye contact because I was trying to not swat my child in public and to choose my words carefully.
My daughter is having a romantic affair with a boy at school. The first I heard about it was Jhanna telling me that this boy told her “the first time I laid eyes on you I fell in love”. WTF This is a six year old. Next was a car ride with two other friends wherein I hear my daughter whisper that she had kissed this boy and they liked each other. One of those friends told the boy about the conversation.. The “boyfriend” confronted Johanna while she was on the swing at school. He was sweetly pushing her on the swing and said “why did you tell”. She said that she had only told the girl and that the girl had told the boy. Today while I was at school I witnessed 45 second embraces, hand holding, way too much flirtatious eye contact, and was told about a kiss on the cheek, and the really kicker….a dad told me they were in line for the swing. Johanna was sitting in a chair in front of the boy who was in another chair . He had his arms around her and she had her head leaned back on his shoulder. The dad said it looked like there was neck nibbling going on and then he stopped them reminding them that hands and bodies needed to be to ones self.
All I can say is that it is the sweetest thing in the world to see such romance, BUT NOT WHEN IT IS MY SIX YEAR OLD!!!!!!!
(We had had a number of talks about who its okay to kiss, and that there will be no boyfriends until she is much older (if ever) ).
10:00pm Quinn is STILL awake. I held him in my lap rocking him slowly…
me: close your eyes baby, you are so tired.
quinn: mama, I’m not a baby anymore.
me: no you’re not a baby anymore, but you will always be my baby even though you are a big boy.
quinn: yeah………..It’s not spring time yet.
