I bought a balance ball and work out video. Damn I am out of shape.

The morning after all this excitement my co-teacher and I were letting the kids share stories of where they were and what they saw. Some got to each the ice, some made “snow” balls. My favorite story, however, was from one of the boys. “My daddy woke me up and I got my light saber. We went upstairs and my daddy showed me outside, God was taking pictures of me.”
Johanna missed a school field trip last week so we decided to make the trek on our own over the weekend. It was a lot of fun and if you haven’t seen these you should!
First stop was to see the harbor seal pups that are being born in Carpenteria. Granted we didn’t see any real little ones, the attendant lady who was answering questions counted 180 seals while we were there.

Second stop, Ellwood Butterfly Reserve. This is the most unbelievable sight to see; Thousands of butterflies clustered in the eucalyptus trees. The trail was really pretty and easy for the kids, plus there were a bunch of different paths to choose from so we look forward to going back over and over again. I am pretty sure the butterflies are here seasonally, so if you plan to go do it soon.

will you make me a ballerina?
is the new baby brother of one on the boys in my class. He was born Wednesday after mom started having contractions and showed signs of a blood infection. She was only 6 months pregnant. “Bean” is just 2 1/2 pounds, but is breathing on his own. Mom is starting to do better and may get to go home tomorrow, but the baby will have to stay in NICU for around 12 weeks. Please keep them in prayer, that the baby will continue to develop and stay healthy and strong, and that the rest of the family stays strong and at peace while they watch baby “Bean” grow.
I asked big brother today if he got to see the baby, “yes! Bean was in a box and there was a teddy bear on top of the box.” I love it. (Yes, Bean does have a name, I just like the nick name)
Johanna is playing school with Quinn and the cat and a few miscellaneous children I can’t see. The cat was brought for sharing so teacher Johanna called “tommy” aka Quinn up to the circle to pet the kitty. Quinn is cooperating very well with his new name. It is very hard not to laugh while I watch them. The cat has jumped ship, so all that is left is Tommy and Reina(?) and the teacher getting ready for nap. But before nap it is flip flop free outside time (say that ten times fast) (Johnna did) then its slipper sleep time, bring your teddy bears out to sleep and turn the light off. Joey took Quinn a semi hard truck toy to try for a pillow.
