So for those of you who don’t know, Nathan and I are doing Weight Watchers. Today was our one week weigh in and I lost 3.5 lbs. The way our program works is you can eat as much food off of the “list” they provide in order to feel satisfied. Each week you are given 35 extra points to use on foods not on the list. Example: Chocolatechip cheese cake (WW recipe) 5pts/slice. In-n-Out fries small is 9 pts.
If you exercise you earn extra points. Today I cleaned (vacuum, laundry, pick up toys) for 1 1/2 hours, and earned three extra points!
I hate chopping onions.
“On November 19, thousands of churches will join together to “worship in the Spirit of justice.” Across our nation, they will praise God as the God of justice, the God who cares for the oppressed, the God who doesn’t play favorites, the God to whom a starving and frightened Muslim child in the Sudan is as precious as a Christian child in an affluent U.S. Sunday school. They will pray for Darfur, for the leaders of Sudan, for racism and genocide to be exposed and rejected, for rescue and reconciliation to be pursued. They will pray for our President and Congress not to let politics so preoccupy them that they forget justice and compassion.” — Brian McLaren
This sounds like something “we” (the bridge community, Christians in general, anyone who cares) should be a part of.

We all have strep throat. Yeah us!
Thank You Roman!! Our friend, 12 year old Roman, had to do community service for school. Of course being a busy and preoccupied pre teen he put it off until the last few days. Tonight he babysat the kids while Nathan and I had a “free” night out. It wasn’t very long, but all went well so next time we can really get our freedom’s worth.
After I dropped Joey off at school this morning (late) Quinn and I went on an impromptu walk at the Kimball Rd. Park loop. Quinn screamed and threw a major tantrum the ENTIRE way around the loop. At least I got some exercise; but was it worth it?
Quinn woke up at 5:30 this morning. He nursed frantically, sat up and puked all over me and my sheets…again. I changed us both, took the sheet off the bed and tried to put him in his crib. He screamed waking Joey up, so I nursed him a bit more, then left him screaming. He stopped and two minutes later Johanna arrived in my bed. Quinn started crying again, but I ignored him. At 8:00 I got in the shower, assuming Quinn was still asleep. When I got out I heard him crying so I got dressed quickly and went to get him out of bed. He was diaper-less and had peed in his bed. We all got dressed and I changed his sheets so I would be able to put him down for a nap this afternoon. Fast forward a few hours: I tucked Quinn in bed for his nap. He seemed to settle easily with no crying, but five minutes later he started to scream. I went to check on him expecting him to be naked or have a dirty diaper. He was neither so I did whatever (I don’t rmember). A bit later I “dumped” him in his crib leaving him screaming for 15 minutes. He was quiet then for a few minutes as I dozed off for a few seconds, and then was startled awake by Quinn screaming again. I went in the room and he was naked a gain and had peed in his bed again. ARRRRRGGGGG! Needless to say we never did get a nap today, the little punk.
Yesterday we drove to Castaic to pick up a climber that I won on eBay. Pictures and details are on Nathan’s Blog
My favorite moments:
A cow crossed the road in front of us and then paused just inside a fenced area. I rolled down my window and started mooing at it. He mooed back. We repeated our conversation for a few moments. I turned to Quinn and said “cow. Moooo.” My smart boy smiled excitedly and said, “cow. baaaa.”
We ate dinner at McDonald’s in Ojai. When we got out of the car Quinn, who had been screaming for twenty minutes, pointed at the building and through sniffles said, “e-i-e-i-ooo.”
Nathan peed in the bushes a few times, but Joey was unsuccessful in her attempt. I put one of Quinn’s diapers on her (yes it fit) but she still couldn’t go. So we finally got to a real bathroom and I took both kids in the stall. Joey pulled down her pants and took off the diaper, Quinn did the same. Joey climbed on to the toilet and started peeing, Quinn pointed at the potty, grabbed himself saying “pee pee, pee pee” I knew it was coming so I held his diaper in front of him catching most of the stream.
