I was getting the kids ready for a shower tonight. Quinn had just gotten his diaper off and Joey her undies off and they both had to pee. Johanna hopped on the toilet, Quinn started peeing on the floor so I acted quickly and held him over the sink helping him aim into the drain. Am I teaching him a bad habit already?
Johanna and Quinn went for a hike with nathan’s parents this afternoon. They went to a beach near Leo Carrillo and hiked to the “pirate’s cave.” Joey was digging in the sand in the cave and found treasure!
Meanwhile, Nathan and I went to see the movie “Jackass 2″ We liked it, but most of you won’t, so I don’t recommend it.
I have finished Christmas shopping for the kids. Never in my life have I ever purchased Christmas presents before December.
is the enemy. My good childhood friend, whom I’ve known since I was three, lost her dad yesterday to cancer. Two years ago I had not known anyone personally who had died of cancer. Now I know more than I can count. I am scared, I am sad, I am confused. Please pray for Betsy, Marina, and Jennie as they mourn their loss and celebrate the life they had with John. I will be going to San Diego in the next few weeks for the memorial; logistics are a bit stressful and uncertain.
because i am freaking obsessed with ebay now.
I filled out a questionaire tonight that asked what our family motto would be. My answer:
Play now, clean later.
This morning I was listening to Tori Amos while driving Johanna to piano lessons. She immediately asked what we were listening to and then proceeded in spending the next 10 minutes whinning about how much she didn’t like the music and wanted me to change the cd. Eventually I gave in and replace it with Norah Jones. After 30 seconds of listening to that she again started the whinning and bitching, and ultimately crying and hiding her head in a blanket. I turned all the music off at that point because I was so mad and annoyed that I was close to smacking her. So we drove in silence.
I bid on some brio train stuff for Quinn for Christmas, and I won! Woohoo! 200+ pieces: tracks, trains, and accessories. Tuesday I’m watching a piano for $1, and on the 14th some stuff for Joey for Christmas.
I have rarely looked at ebay until recently, and even now its has only been with a few certain things in mind. The other day I found an upright piano for $99 in Bakersfield. Nobody had bid on it so Nathan told me to watch it. The auction closed today a little before 2:30 pm. Nathan placed a bid for me at 2:15pm or so. At 2:20pm someone else bid on it. We went back and forth a little and I waited until the last few seconds and tried one last bid. He won.
Nathan says at least we made him pay more than he would have otherwise.
Quinn thought it was really funny to take a kid’s hat yesterday. Fortunately the boy liked the game. Today a different boy didn’t think Quinn’s game was so funny. They got in a screaming tug-o-war match.
