Bullfrogs and Butterflies

8:36 pm

They’ve both been born again. The VBS at Joey’s school was a music camp this year and they invited the preschool to join them in singing that song. Joey got scared and didn’t participate, but we watch the program anyway. It was a typical church sing-a-long cheese ball production, but tolerable and pretty cute. (I know that was all contradictory to itself but all words apply in some way or another) Three of the four Lehr kids were in it; Kaylene had a solo and did really well. I didn’t know she had such a nice voice. Quinn liked most of the music too and was swaying to the songs. Tonight when I put him to bed he was trying to sing/hum while I was nursing him (thats pretty tricky). Maybe Joey will sing next time, oh well.

Internet

8:21 pm

Johanna’s answer for everything these days is internet. “Whatcha doing?” “Internet” Tonight when I put her to bed she told me that she named one of her stuffed animals (either the snake or the horse, I couldn’t hear)…His name is Internet something Mystery. She was whisperinfg so as not to wake Quinn up, so I will have to quiz her on the details in the morning.

A clean house

8:19 pm

It always is in preparation for company, but I cleaned my house. In the process of trying to keep the kids out of my way i realized there was really no reason not to let Joey use poison chemicals…so I put her to work cleaning her bathroom, toilet and all! I am brilliant :-)

A day at the Zoo

2:41 pm

Good times. Quinn and I fed the giraffes and got licked. Joey and Gavin had a great time, although Joey says she only had little fun. A seagull landed on our lunch table and grabbed Gavin’s cheese and cheerios so we spent the rest of lunch chasing the dumb bird away. We said hi to the sloth for Nathan, saw a giant tarantula, watched the lions rest on the rocks, wondered why the elephant was laying down (the keeper said it was a sign of comfort that she slept during the day). The highlight may have been seeing the ROUS’s swimming! I didn’t know they did that. I also really liked feeding the giraffe, but i wish we were allowed to pet them too.

Something to hold

4:21 pm

At the hospital yesterday Aaron asked for something to hold so he could practice using his very weak shaky hands. Natalie and I made him some rubber glove water balloons. This is the biggest smile I have seen him make so far! He threatened to throw them at his nurse George if he didn’t get Physical Therapy to come SOON! Very funny…I think George was a bit worried.
Today Aaron is being kicked out of ICU…Praise God! Back up to the 10th floor, hopefully the 1040 window again, but we’re not picky.

Another one bites the dust

9:13 pm

Joey’s mama fish died today. I can’t tell how upset she really is because originally she wanted to get rid of the mom and dad fish, but when we found the fishy Joey tried to cry (no tears, kind of loud and fake sounding).

interior design

11:39 am

Quinn “called” me into the kitchen where I found him standing in an open drawer setting up his jolly roger poster on the edge of the top drawer…very stylish

Sit, speak, walking soon down a hallway near you…

11:17 am

Aaron Boydston had his gallbladder removed yesterday and today he is sitting and talking!, or rather demanding! He was arguing as to why he couldn’t just walk, why he just had to sit and do nothing. Ah Aaron, we have missed you :-)
